Biography
María Cristina González was born in Jaén, Andalusia, where she started her musical education aged 10. She studied at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, graduating with a master’s degree in both classical and early music.
Alongside her formal training she attended masterclasses by flutists such as Jacques Zoon, Felix Rengli, Harrie Starreveld, Davide Formisano, Marc Hantai, Kate Clarke, Leon Berendse, Javier Castiblanque, Magdalena Matínez and Alvaro Octavio Díaz.
During the last few years, María Cristina worked with orchestras and ensembles of note, both nationally and internationally. Examples are the Koninklijk Concertgebouw Orkest, Philharmonie Zuid-Nederland, the Orkest van het Oosten, Het Nieuwe Ensemble, the Netherlands Bach Society, the Metropole Orkest en the Ensemble Resonanz.
