Biography
Dutch lyric coloratura soprano Elvire Beekhuizen is a member of the opera studio of Theater Lübeck. From season 24/25 on she will be in the soloist ensemble of Theater Magdeburg.
Important roles are: Morgana (Alcina), Adele (Die Fledermaus) and Marie (La Fille du Régiment). She also performed as Johanna Barker (Sweeney Todd) Taumännchen (Hänsel und Gretel), Mademoiselle Silberklang (Der Schauspieldirektor), Serpina (La Serva Padrona), Belinda (Dido and Aeneas), and the different soprano roles in Purcell's King Arthur.
In 2023 she won the golden medal in category "Baroque" in the Manhatten Music Competition, and a finalist in Zenith Opera Competition.
An experienced interpretter of Baroque music, she worked with early ensembles such as Apollo Ensemble, Bach Ensemble Amsterdam, Ribattutta Musica and Barok Opera Amsterdam and performed a wide range of repertoire.
Elvire is married to Polish stage director Szymon Komarnicki.
